Pioneer Works is very pleased to present WORK, E.S.P. TV’s first institutional solo exhibition in the United States. Directed by Victoria Keddie and Scott Kiernan, E.S.P. TV is most known for their live television taping events featuring collaborations for broadcast with underground poets, musicians, and other artists via their mobile television studio.
For this exhibition’s six-week run, E.S.P. TV will make Pioneer Works itself their subject, relocating the organization’s second-floor, open-plan office to the first-floor’s main exhibition space. The banal realities of institutional labor will thus be “live-mixed” daily. Over time, the day-to-day office routines and patterns will become fodder for a serial program to be broadcast on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network. This project follows E.S.P. TV’s six-month residency at Pioneer Works in January 2016, during which they closely observed the building’s unique environment and close-knit, collective office culture, working closely with in-house curator David Everitt Howe to envision this social experiment and exhibition.
